When my husband and I decided to take our kids and leave Canada, we did so with heavy hearts. The constant erosion of our basic freedoms, the introduction of a government issued compliance pass, and the divisive rhetoric being spouted by those who are meant to represent all Canadians. We felt deeply concerned for the future of our once great nation. Since, we have been grieving what felt like the complete loss of our country. We were led to believe there wasn’t enough people left willing to fight for our freedoms. This trucker convoy however, has reignited our love and patriotism for our fellow Canadians that we felt was gone. It has given us so much hope, and optimism that we have not had for our country in a long time.
Seeing the mass amounts of Canadians coming together with one common purpose is awe inspiring. What we see are communities coming together again. Whether it is making sandwiches, creating care packages, designing signs, donating their savings, opening their homes, and businesses to drivers, or cheering on the convoy in subzero temperatures. It is such a beautiful sight to see, even if it’s just through my phone screen.
That is the Canada I love. That is what I remember about our countrymen. Us Canadians have always been able to open our hearts, and truly come together when it counts.
That is why I am a proud Canadian.
Thank you so much truckers for giving me that pride in my country back.
This division over the past two years has been so traumatizing to witness. Friend against friend. Neighbor against neighbor. Family against family.
Please Canadians I beg you. Come back together. We are not divided as people, like our government and media are trying to make us. We are Canadians and we love this country. No more hate, it’s what they want.
We are the happy, friendly, polite, apologizers; who will always pull over to help shovel you out of a snow-drifted ditch. Together we can create that beautiful Canada again. We can see each other smile when someone opens the door for you, friends hugging in public again, strangers delivering a strong handshake when they’re introduced, or our children’s excited faces when we pick them up from school.
Please let us bring that beauty back into our world.
No more hate speech toward our fellow citizens. No more cancelled weddings, or lonely funerals, or quiet holidays without family.
We need our communities again.
These last two years have been difficult on everyone. Let’s start healing together. We can still be respectful of everyone’s views, and choices.
No more force by coercion.
People have made their choices, and we can’t keep demonizing and segregating them and still have a healthy, cohesive society. Is the permanent social damage we’re creating worth forcing a pharmaceutical product on Canadians, that does not appear to be working very well? There are a growing number of countries who have already decided to lift these measures, let’s join them.
This is why the trucker convoy means so much. It shows just how many Canadians are ready to live life again. We want that beauty back in the world. It is time to bring back that compassion, unity, and love. That is the Canada that all of us want to go home to someday. That is the Canada that we want to raise our children in.
Time is a precious thing. It is time to live life to the fullest again. It is time for the rowdy birthdays, family reunions where we can reminisce on hysterical stories together, or comfort one another during times of loss and stress. We should be celebrating life achievements together. These are the moments that propel us forward during life, and shapes our futures. We never get our time back, so let’s stop wasting it.
We can take responsibility for our own health. We don’t need our government mandating it.
Thank you, Freedom Convoy, we hope to see you all soon.
Beautiful message Chantel 🇨🇦❤️My heart is full of love watching us remember the unity and community. Best wishes to you and your brave family.
Wow what a thought provoking message. My husband and I left Canada before the no fly without being vaxxed came into place. We hate the thought of having to go back. I have never felt that way before. We are in Florida. What a difference! Governor Desantis is a blessing. He should run for president.
